Designing for Device Orientation

From Portrait to Landscape

Designing for device orientation creates an adaptive system that provides great opportunities to create better user experiences, as it offers an additional display (from portrait to landscape or vice versa) with a simple turn of a device, and without pressing any buttons. In my talk, I will examine the main patterns for device orientation design and demonstrate how, with the aid of smart visual clues and outside the box thinking, UX designers can rely on device orientation to enhance any application.
